Hi all,
Firstly what a wonderful site, as Tony would say, its grrrrrreat!!
Recently decided to make a career change been in IT distribution for 4 years and currently an account manager for Barclays.(well actually im on gardening leave). Thanks sub-prime America!!!
My knowledge of the markets is minimal at best, after surfing for a few weeks its apparent you need a certificate in securities, passed Unit 1 - Regulations, my god, how boring n tedious was that! In a couple of weeks start Unit 2 - Securities at Bpp. Once these have been completed any ideas where to apply for a trainee position of any sort. Im hardworking, ambitious, persistant etc my only concern is that im 29, most of the trainee positions are for graduate positions.
If anyone could point me in the right direction, would be much appreciated as there are alot of cowboy firms outhere. I could use the force and rely on instinct but my Jedi powers arent fully developed.(yet)
In terms of further reading, simulations, anything that could help broaden my knowledge I would be eternally greatfull.
Give it a few months n......SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!! good old Jez.
Im under no illusion as becoming a trader doesnt happen overnight, however the enthusiasm coupled with my underlying desire for an obscene amount of cash is fuelling my new career choice.
Many thanks all.
