MT5 was working fine on my PC last week still. Over the weekend I had to reinstall Windows7 on my PC. Consequently I had to reinstall my various broker platforms.

Now I can no longer install MT5 from ActiveTrades. During the installation process it is asking me for some proxy server information. The technical staff from ActiveTrades tried their best to make things work and remotely connected to my machine a couple of times but couldn't get things to work.

Has anyone else encountered similar problems in installing MT5 on their machine?

Many thanks in advance,

An update on this:

I got it to work.

Instead of running of downloading and running the .exe file from my broker - I went directly to the MT5 website and downloaded and installed it successfully from there - it never asked me for any proxy settings during the installation steps.

My broker then provided me with the IP address of their server which I entered into MT5, and after that it all worked fine.
