Man U touring the US

Currently watching Man United vs my home team, Philadelphia Union. Good game so far. Next week Man U vs MLS All-Stars. Good to see the MLS finally being competitive.

The Union just opened their new stadium too. Haven't made it there yet.

MLS has been competitive with EPL teams for years. Individual teams perhaps not consistently so, but the league has only once lost an All Star game against a foreign opponent, and that was last year on penalties against Everton, with ex-MLSer Tim Howard the MVP.

All star teams have been good, but club teams have consistently lost...still losing but at least not getting their bell rung. Also, there's no comparison to the old NASL where all the players were shipped in from around the world. Remember the 70's and 80's when the US national team was made up of college players and 2nd string team players who never saw any minutes of play on their club teams. Certainly has come a long way since then!
