Hi folks,

I am a noob to day-trading and currently just reading, watching a lot of videos and using a spreadbet demo account. I work in the UK full-time so my only real chance to trade is during US market time. From my limited research to date I have noticed some differences between US advise and UK advise for day-trading and would like to ask you guys for some help clarifying:

In the US you need a deposit of $25,000 to day-trade stocks. Do they get free trades if they deposit this sum as I see some US folks talking about "scaling into breakouts" and making many many small entries and exits? I just do not see how this would be possible in the UK given the price-per-trade that one would typically pay here, both in actual shares or given the spread that needs to be covered with each bet if spreadbetting.

US does not have spreadbetting but in the UK spreadbetting seems to be the only viable way to take positions on US stocks as the cost to trade in actual stocks is prohibitive for day-trading?
