So I've been out of work a little while to get my FSA exams, go to two interviews on Wednesday and get them both.

One is working for a stockbrokers firm, account opener type position, cold calling is on the cards (not bothered at all about that). Basic salary is 200£ more a month, I would actually be using my exams (not required for land broking) and there is a serious prospect of becoming a senior broker within the company within a year (no more fronting!).

The other is becoming an account opener for a land broking firm, comms are better, but essentially the same job just a different commodity. I am also very aware of the amount of scam land broking companies out there, and I believe have done enough due dilligence to ensure that this firm is not one. Got a couple of friends at this firm too.

So what am i asking here? Which one would you take and why? Bring your own knowledge of each of the jobs aswell into the thread as am really undecided between the two.

I know ultimatly the answer ultimatly will be you decide, but I dont want that in the replies.

May be important to add that I am 18.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the replies,

To update you all I went for the land broking job, com structure is too good to miss out on.

Theres guys and girls seriously taking home 20-30k a month!

Land broking pay is not at all bad, more lucrative than small cap broking and as you are 18, its important for you to get your foot in and prove your good at Sales, even if the company's reputation turns out to be s**t. You obviously want some kind of career & this will open alot of doors a few years later with more reputable co.s- from their point of view a guy who's worked in the city, even if not the best co. and got people to do LOTS of business with him is more of an asset than a bum or someone just doing some random course at uni, but knowing sweet FA about sales & the working world. I am a few years older and I have to look at stuff like how good the co. is to make sure I am getting proper knowledge- i sometimes wish i'd skipped uni, so I can have a decent career long-term. But at your age, its about action, drive and proving yourself. So GO AHEAD & GOOD LUCK!!

personally i would go for the first choice, because you have great advancement opportunities early on ! and that is an important factor when looking for a job, at least for me.

Good luck with everything you do

totally agree on the jobs like buses, was in a similar situation last week, imagine yourself in each job then ask yourself will you be thinking about the other one and what could have been...

seriously it worked for me

good luck
