Haha nice one Pat,

That photo reminded me of Eeyore.

This is how I think of the characters at T2W - one big happy chappies playing nicely together :)

I sincerely think T2W is a GREAT social and trading forum and I can't find anything that even closely resembles it. Good balance between social and professional material imho. (y)

Keep up the good work :)

Promoting articles on the sites front page from back in 2003 hardly gives the impression that theres much quality content being submitted. worse still, there are comments back from 2009 asking why a 6 year old article is being promoted !

The article might be the font of all trading knowledge, but surely promoting content a decade old Doesnt really send out particularly positive signals to potential new members (unless there's some sort of retro trading article fashion fad that I'm unaware of, if so perhaps we could have the original purple site design back, I liked that one)

Retro trading? Now there's a good idea. Wouldn't it be nostalgic to go back to teh good old days of platforms that crash every five minutes and have super-wide spreads.

It would be brilliant if you where a broker, 8 point spread on cable or whatever, like taking candy from a baby.

I can recall a popular retail broker who had a platform where price would magically jump up 2 pips when you hovered the mouse over the buy button (and down 2 pips if you hovered over the sell button) well funny !

The market hasn't changed at all, just spreads, platforms
and members ( whatever happened to Soc..... was he pushed or did he jump ? )
Some of the newer members have a positively negative streak !! eh hairy one ?

Mr Socco was pushed

I think a lot of the newer members are old members who suffered similar fates

Now you know very well that Mr Socco was fond of rope. Apparently, his naughty students were bound, gagged and tied to chairs (for their own good you understand).

However, this fondness for rope eventually caught up with him, (give someone enough rope and they will surely hang themselves).

So that, I respectfully submit, is what happened to Mr Socco.

Thats good , but take a look at Bigmiketrading :)

Pretty much the same thing really. Just had another look.

Public forums are like public parks. Take a walk in any one of them and most of the trees look like trees - all pretty much the same.

Heard about BigMike before on some dodgy porn site too :cheesy:. I think there is a limit as to how many; public forums, friends and contacts any one person can sustain or keep up with.

I always think T2W is what we make it.

If any person comes up with what sounds like a good idea I usually say great do you want to run with it? Usually, if the person has enough get up and go they'll come back with some sort of plan, questions and request for resource; usually time and money. These are the people I like having in my team.

Then there are those who having suggested a good idea will subsequently hear nothing from. Then we'll never know and its BAU routine.

I reckon Malcolm Gladwell's book The Tipping Point is an excellent book on movers and shakers.

Thats weird ! I didn't see any resemblance .

Just my 2 cents

I very rarely grace big mike with my presence, but on the odd occasion that I have, I've found the experience to be quite worthwhile.

I posted on one of their threads discussing random trading, and the quality of the responses I recieved by PM where astonishingly good, light years beyond anything I've ever discussed with anyone at the zoo.

The public forums are going to be more or less the same, the same old tired vendor multinics trying to eek out a crust posting their garbage wherever they can. I'm not recommending the place, its a trading forum, and 'big mike' probably causes as much damage as any of the other blighters running these things, but the difference between these places is like chalk and cheese.

Very useful and informative material there , anyway you don't have to choose or recommend any forum , just take anything you read with a grain of salt .

Just had a quick peek at Big Mike's trading forum. I reckon T2W could learn a bit from them, more members as well which ultimately means more revenue for the owners. The hard line on the vendor front and participation of members seems good. I'll find the time to check out the tolerance levels there and have a snoot around.

Very intersting:)

Big mikes is mostly futures traders
T2W is mostly spreadbetters and forex

...more members as well which ultimately means more revenue for the owners.

Note at the bottom of main forum the Currently Active Users highlighted in yellow, which is about 80%+ of active users normally. That means they've paid $50 for lifetime access to the elite section with webinars etc.

My point is there is only so much chalk and cheese any one person can digest what ever ones appetite is for that matter.

There is probably 6 sites I visit regularly and that's my routine. T2W is one of them.

There are probably another dozen sites or so I visit irregularly and they happen to be various other news and interest sites etc.

I like T2W because of all the interesting people I get to meet here and content of the site. The other sites are very dry and sterile. T2W has real character that's difficult to describe but I would NOT call it the zoo. On the contrary the mods do a good job preventing it from turning into one. I always fine Hare's comments to be soooo depressing I think the mods deserve a medal for coping with him.

I'm always confused about this lulz business too - as the very people who are supposed to be some kind of **** hot traders are the very ones who mess up the site. Traders ARE usually full of them selves. I think it is youth and money makes one believe they are invincible megalomaniacs.

Finally, trading is always so personal I don't see any value in following any persons call on any instrument. There are also 000s of sites offering buy and sell signals for a fee or for free.

What I look out for is a feel and perspective on news. Get lots of it here.

Horses for courses... I do feel some people need to lighten up a lil bit :cheesy:
