I'd say there's at least one for every person in this country (given there are tramps and many have more than one chair, numbers should more than cancel each other out). Plus one chair for every business in the UK (mobile businesses and multiple chairs in larger companies should balance each other).

I suppose one problem is that such furniture breaks over time. As they say, chair today, gone tomorrow.

I would hazard a guess at around half a billion. Cars alone will be 100 million.
