Help -blank header for third of page!

I say chaps; I sometimes get a near third of blank space at top of page when I move from page to page within a thread. It's as if invisable content is taking up space causing me to have to scroll down to begin reading content. Can I rectify this?

your lucky,Ive got 5 15" monitors so it never fits on one screen which is annoying

Just noticed its a large FXCM side bar advert. taking up the space each time the blank space appears.
