I wonder how easy it is to get customers and start making loads of money as a 'trainer'/educator etc. Its obviously about being good at marketing than being able to trade/teach.

Im always hearing stories around the web of people complaining that they wasted thousands upon thousands of pounds to people who claimed to be able to teach them how to trade profitably when they couldn't actually trade themselves! It's amazing.
I remember when that Mr.Spreadbetting guy used to almost brag about all of the money he had made from idiots buying his useless 'courses' and he even posted statements from amazon proving that he was making thousands per month!

Then again, I think im just too nice to even entertain the thought. I know how frustrating this game is, without being fleaced out of even more money by scammers.
Quite amazing, though. Seems like a really easy way to make a decent some of money...

Doing that has an adverse effect it seems. Clearly nobody wants to learn anything judging by reactions. They would much rather believe the hype about living the dream, which is exactly where they will end up of course, in a perpetual dream ( nightmare ) same thing innit.

Speaking of which, did you see that thing about some guru-muppet called Robert Hoffman? There's a couple of threads about it on ET. I'd never heard of him before this incident, but if you want to crap your pants laughing, read on.

Basically, this chump runs a live trading room, and has like a 99% hit rate or whatever. On the back of this he's got hundreds of idiots in his room.

He uses a Martingale system to trade futures (I'm not making this up). He apparently wins day after day after day, often closing out a few hundred bucks in profit.

On the day in question, he kept buying more and more TF as the market went against him until apparently he was carrying about 850 cars (I swear I'm not making it up) and was down about $250,000. At that point his broker pulled the plug on him and liquidated at the market. He ended up loosing about $318,000 or whatever it was.

Yes, a high win rate is indeed a wonderful thing . Seriously, go over to ET and check it out, it's absolutely hilarious.
