Hi guys. I hope that this is the correct forum to post this question. I would like to ask you something regarding futures close out.
In the few years that I have been trading, I have always been given the option by the trading brokers that are use to automatically roll me over into the new contract. Four example, future is closed out today but I was automatically rolled over to the December contract with one of my brokers
I had a similar position with another broker who simply closed out the position. When I enquired about this I was simply told the contract for September had expired and therefore we do not roll over clients.
What I would like to find out is if this is standard practice? Can a broker automatically close out your position without giving you the option of Roll over?
