US stocks trades higher in quiet trading


Major indices are higher.
The major US indices are trading higher.

S&P is up 6.39 points or 0.25% to 2470.70. That is near the high. The low reached 2468.31
The Nasdaq is up 11.65 points or 0.19% to 6344. The low reached 6337. The high reached 6352.
The Dow is up 67 points or 0.30% to 22066.

In the US debt market:

2 year is 1.3505%, up 0.4 bp
5 year 1.823%, unchanged
10 year 2.267%, down -0.5 bp
30 year 2.8441%, down -0.4 bp

Spot gold is trading up about $1 at 1272.47WTI crude is up $0.13 to $47.70 before inventory data.
At 10:30 AM ET/1430 GMT, the DOE inventory data will be released:

Crude oil inventories are expected to show a drawdown of -3382K vs -6451K last week
Gas inventories are expected to show a draw of -900K vs an add of 3424K last week

The private API data last night apparently showed (on the internet):

Crude oil inventories down -9155K
Gasoline up 301K
Distillates down -2074K
Cushing +1711K

The US housing and building permits were lower than expectations.Trumps business council defections is up to 6.FOMC meeting minutes will be released at 2 PM ET/1800 GMT today.

USDJPY bouncing. Cohn rumor denied.

Careful out there...
The markets are subject/vulnerable to headline news and that can be dangerous to trading as they can happen at any time.

The latest is the Cohn rumors are being denied. That has led to a quick run up back in the USDJPY. The denial is from Axxios reporter on Twitter.

Technically, the USDJPY moved back to the cluster of MAs above and below the 110.00 area.
