Man who told me about the program is I think still using it and 'he said' his profitability is similar to the posted backtesting results trading fx pairs.

I don't think they offer a free trial so it would seem best to first try and learn how to use the program as well as possible; then lease the program for a month and assume that month will be a learning exercise which may or may not pay for the lease fee. That should be sufficient time to evaluate its performance and whether or not it's a program you like using.
