If you use google chrome as your browser , just go to chrome web store and look for an app " Do not track plus " it will block ads tracking and all t2w ads :cheesy:

Does this work on most sites? And does it slow things down or have any negative effects?

I don't mind ads per se - they pay for things, after all. But there is no point in them being shown to me. Most ads put me off, even if had been intending to buy the advertised product before seeing the ad.

Just a quick note - this is available as a firefox add-on as well. Just google it and away you go.

Seems to work just as well in firefox.

But look at all the entertainment you'll miss. Secret nazi boxes, zero spreads, world trading champions, the list goes on. Ads and ' partner offers' provide the best sport on T2W. Don't ruin it for the rest of us.

Oh and poor Jason from FXCM, please don't delete his ads. You know they credit positive slippage nowadays, give the guy a break.

Now i am looking for a one to block your posts as well ...

For those using Firefox: NoScript, Ghostery and AdBlock Plus are a killer combination

BTW "do not track plus" doesn't block all the ads just the tracking , i've just added adblock plus to chrome ...

WTF? The ads are the only thing worth reading here.

Well I appreciate my dose of reality is not always welcome, so feel free, I wont be offended.

Dont get me wrong i appreciate what you did by exposing scammers ... etc , we need salt on our food but not too much :!:

I prefer to just redirect advertising hosts (such as partner.googleadservices.com) to 127.0.0.1 in my hosts file so they are never referenced.

Its the ads that keep T2W free, bit like ITV.
If we didn't allow ads, or the advertisers didn't buy space here, we'd end up with subscriptions.

if it weren't for the courageous and selfless acts of these buyers of secret nazi boxes and bots, throwing themselves heroically upon the grenades of scammers and EAs, we'd end up paying to post on T2W.

EDIT: Sing the praises of these sheep, and pass the mint sauce.

It's a good point certainly. I think the problem is one of abuse though.

I'm sure nobody objects to a few ads - as you say, funding must come from somewhere. But it has got crazy - the site is festooned with ads. Banners across the top, banners across the bottom, down the sides, ads popping up before you log in - even ads in posts. A forum with ads is one thing, but these days it is more like ads with a forum.

The problem is made worse because it's not just T2W - practically every website you go to, the same thing. Even if I just open an email - down the side, 6 or 7 God damn ads.

It's become ridiculous frankly, and it is no wonder that people jump at the chance to avoid being bombarded with advertisements every waking moment. The greed of the people who run the websites is to blame.

It doesn't help, of course, that most adverts are plain lies that insult the intelligence of anybody who is not drunk or an habitual abuser of horse tranquillisers.
