i believe people should be aware that their PRIVATE messages are being read.
One would be painfully naive to be unaware of the possibility or even probability of such a thing.1lotwonder said:schoe - i believe people should be aware that their PRIVATE messages are being read. either that, or a warning stating they will be read, and dropping the name PRIVATE, as they clearly are not.
I have to disagree here. If the facility is called 'Private messaging', then it should remain private and no moderator should have the access to read them. It's nothing new in IT, that's how it's always been. A Yahoo! employee will never know your mail password and they will not have access to your mailbox, it will be encrypted and stored in a secure database. They can of course override the system and can read your stuff, only (repeat only) if they believe a crime has been committed, or if a law-enforcement authority want to see them.TheBramble said:As RT says, you'd have to be awfully naive to imagine your PMs were, well, Private!
