So you want to be a day trader huh?, really???, hmmm, well isn’t that special!!!! Think you have what it takes to make a living trading the Markets??? Do ya Bunkie???? I wouldn’t quit my day job pal. In fact unless you’ve done your homework first and foremost, don’t do this until you’ve at least tried it on a part time basis. Otherwise if you try to dive into the abyss without a net, you’re doomed right from the get go! Doing it on a part time basis just for the feel of it is fine. Never would work otherwise.
Oh and pardon me for asking, but what makes YOU think you’re smart enough, stable enough, and mechanical enough to do this? You read about it in a book right? Seemed kinda easy to ya?  Did it? You figured heck this doesn’t seem so hard!!! You even heard about it or watched it on TV, all about these young upstarts making all kinds of money trading the markets fast and furious right? You said to yourself.   I can do this, and I can do it better than him or...

Ha ha, very entertaining read. I'm not trading yet so I don't speak from experience, but it has a ring of truth to it. Surely no-one or hardly anyone can start trading fulltime without those 10 things - computer/comms backup, predetermined rules, everything that makes up a system/methodology/etc. Maybe people do!

A hugely refreshing relief from the usual jargon and dry rehashed wisdom that one often finds in trading articles. The truth hits home most effectively with the soft gloves of humour that are imho essential to longevity in a lonely, often frustrating business. Great debut, thank you. When's the next one out Jerry? PS Go easy on the woodpecker, he only wants to nest. In your loft. :)

Hey Jerry I love your style. To coin a British expression, "You've got more front than Southend." I do hope you'll be around here next week when they'll hopefully be a bit more action and volume. All the best to you. Rols

I found your article amusing and, hopefully, it will make some people stop and think before they rush in where angels fear to tread.

In a way it's irrelevant whether someone likes the article or not. What is important is that it prompts discussiion or prompts thought. People can agree or disagree as long as it is done constructively and without the abuse that is sometimes seen on this site.

The same applies with trading in general. Some people like more risk, some like less risk. Some like forex, others like equities. That's just personal style and preference linked to whatever aims you have created for yourself. Neither side is right or wrong.

You listed a number of questions potential traders should consider. If these questions or anything in the article struck a chord with anyone I would recommend them to stop and fill in the trading plan template

http://www.trade2win.com/knowledge/articles/general_articles/trading-plan-template/?r

and to do a thread search on Trading Journals.

Happy 65th whenever the date is

Hi Charlton

thanks for the nice words, and my B-Day is the 23rd... :cheesy:

as to what you have said here...let everyone take notice about those words...

we are not here to brag, use ego's try to be better than anyone else, what i am doing here is what i have been doing for 10 years on the internet

sticking my face out there trying to help everyone and myself...make a buck

it's not about subscribers monthly fees of $50.00 bucks...not for the 80 hours i work each week..it's about trading with 150 other traders from around the Globe each day as cyber friends. that help each other make a days pay.....PERIOD ENDED!!!

people can think what the wish, they always have over the years...but i am here to stay and work hard for everyone...

thanks again
