Datacept

I accept totally that there is a balance to be struck between risk and reward. However I do not see that any organisation can legitimately promote stock as unrestricted knowing that all investors when they receive their certificates, as I have now done, will find that the stock can only be dealt with under 'Reg S'. Unless of course that organisation set out to misinform from the outset and by such methods earn commission that would not necessarily have been earned had all potential investors been given the full facts. They would not have had my money for a start.

Agreed - have you tried to contact anyone a ET to see if there is any "out." Can anyone suggest a way to aggreived investors on how to recoup seemingly lost funds? At the very least unhappy investors should "spread the word" of ET (and others) to promote awareness to the vunerable.

I was contacted by ET today (Kevin Riley) to confirm that I had received my certificate and to try and get me to increase my holding. Apparently institutions are getting in and they have very little stock left. I declined the offer and at the same time asked for a progress update and raised the question of Reg S on the reverse of the cert. He expressed surprise and said that he would check it out and get back to me. However he also said that the float has been put back until November after the Presidential Elections. The conversation also included a quote from Fortune magazine and another mention for how highly regarded Paul Faso is in the US.

Keep posting.

Paul Leo Faso

I have spent quite some time searching any information on Paul Leo Faso on the internet and I have come up with nothing at all. If he is so well known in the States I would have expected at least a few hits. has anybody had any luck finding some info about him?

Unfortunately reason would suggest Paul Leo Faso is not a well known business leader - his only "write-up" appears on Marquis Who's Who (mentioned on an earlier post in this thread) which is a self-publicity "pay as you go" advertising vehicle open to the public.

I think the best option for Datacept share owners is to establish whether there is an outlet for selling the shares other than ebay. Does anyone have any ideas / comment?

Hi, recently bought some shares in datacept and decided to google it. This was all I got. Pretty worrying. On the ET website, there's an address in luxembourg. I've talked to Kevin Riley, Danny Charles and some other people. What do people think is the best way of selling the shares if they ever float? Also has anyone ever heard of a scam of this type (if it is a scam)?
At the moment it doesn't look great. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow about the Reg S thing and when they reckon it's going to float.

Yes a friend of mine was hassled daily to buy shares in international biometrics inc from a company based in Switzerland, the guy and his 'boss' phoned nearly everyday for two weeks!
When we looked into the company all we found was a cheap website, when we tried to phone just got a answer phone!! (sounds very similar).
As you can imagine we stayed well clear and I have looked for the IPO and have not seen this company listed at all..............
Ever seen that movie 'Boilerhouse' ??

Boilerhouse

Well done Bono - have been trying to remember that name ever since I read the first posting about Datacept.

I have little doubt this is a scam unfortunately.

Remember - if it sounds too good to be true it probably isn't.

don't you mean "is". Yeah that film has been mentioned a lot of times. Lol, but they didn't cold call me (I'd contacted them before about something). I asked a lot of questions, but yeah this is probably a scam. Everyuone is saying the same story I heard. If they're moving the float date now it doesn't look good. They could just keep moving it indefinitely.

Anyway I'm off to start a share tipping firm in the caymen islands or something, seems to be a lot of people willing to hand over money to people after just a phone call.

Again i got in on the IPO in july "02" when they said that it was going to be sept 11 then. this has been going on for years and now i can't get a hold of the company (world sector investments) that i got it from!! This has scam all over it.

I had a word with daniel Charles yesterday and he said that nasdaq should have heard of datacept, (so will give them a ring when I can find a number) and that they have to float before the end of 2004. But that might be just to give them time to get out of the office and start a new scam.

Just logged into Datacept website and I am pleased to say that it has been completely redone and now looks far more indicative of a company with a strategic plan and timetable in mind.

Hi Big,

Saw the new website aswell. But also got told by danny Charles that the float is now going to happen in december. Also, a website can be knocked up pretty easily, so still sceptical. Maybe try contacting nasdaq to see if they have heard of datacept. I was assured they'd know what was going on.

i also bought Osprey Gold but have yet to receive a share certificate.went from 42cents to 110 almost overnight and has now managed mysteriously to drop to 10 cents .whats the great catch and why take 6months for a share certificate to arrive or will it ever

Who did you buy Opsrey from - was it Edward Tate? If so, I'd give them a call and find out the situation. Osprey is freely traded on the Nasdaq so it shouldn't be a problem buying / selling the shares.

Date correction

High all
Received a call today from ET (Martin Hall), to update me,. ET have been told by Datacept that listing will now take place on December 6th, been put back due to uncertainty in market, quote Google experience. Assured that eventhough cert says Reg S, should be no problem selling.

I retain an open mind and am trying some further research.

Bigprofit, have you found out about this company or edward tate or beckett (the underwritting company) from an independent source? I haven't. I've been trying to locate a number for nasdaq as they should have heard about thew proposed listing. I got a call this morning from Daniel Charles of edward tate, to reassure me about it and that this is legitimate. I figure they could have done a runner with our money by now since they have it already, however I'm still conviced that there is some kind of scam going on. p.s. he told me the listing was on the 6th. I'm still unconvinced either way.

I have nothing substantive as yet. Datacept Defense Systems Inc is registered as a corporation in the State of Florida with Paul Leo Faso as President, no contact details are listed. A search of Florida public records reveals a Paul Leo Faso aged 59. This would appear to be consistent with the career history given on Datcept website, where he is quoted as obtaining a BA in New York University in 1970. I am attempting to check the Datacept address quoted on the website.

Turning to ET, I have had an off the record conversation with a stock broker who specialises in Nasdaq opportunities and he said that they have clients who have lost thousands having followed ET recommendations. This tends to suggest to me that we are not dealing with a "take the money and run scam", but I think the prospect of a share price collapse after the end of the REG S period or an indefinite postponement of the float and being left with stock that you cannot sell without incurring large expense is a possible outcome that could be consistent with what this stockbroker was prepared to impart.

My view is still that I would rather have not got involved with this and am a lot wiser for the experience.

Oops!!

Looks like the only thing left is to find out whether there is some sort of 'get-out clause'.
You would think Datacept or Edward Tate would have some kind of newsletter or paper work!?

Also I recently got a phone call from the states about a certain Nu-Star Holdings (NSHJ)... offering similair quotations and percentages. It was a cold call no doubt passed on from the members of Edward Tate!
Just wondering if others have had an increase in unsollicited calls recently??
