Cost of website?

I'm just in the process of setting up a new business and I've asked a company to quote for website design.

For a bespoke web site, with 2 or 3 pages , with atwitter feed, no a/v they want £500+ Vat this seems a lot? does anyone have any ideas of what this should cost? or can reccoemend someone to design a page?

web designer £10-20/hr, no more than 3-5 hours job if you have everything ready, or you can post it to freelance sites for about £100 -£150 i think
