Dont know your source for the quotes shown in the competition, but couldnt believe a spread of 300/350 for Tate & Lyle (TATE) Checked wit L.S.E. site, also 20 mins delay and shows 340/349.75.

Is this a blip or normal??? Can mislead participants to hold or sell, or worse, not partake in the competition!!!!

Hi Uncle,

Just checked the price on ADVFN and the spread was 300/350 until about 8:30 - with our 20 min delay should have been that until about 8:50.. so sounds alright, maybe a few mins extra delayed. But the price is correct.

Is difficult when it comes to stop loss/limit order - might be better to go by the mid price. But theres always going to be problems with widening of the spread first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and thats why overnight orders get processed at 9:00am rather than 8:00am.

John, just in case you missed the "modus operandi ", you would decide on a trade at real time prices. I also check the spread at that time. If it's a "goer", I then place the comp entry. Hopefully, 20 mins later, the feed price will match what the real time price was 20 minutes ago. That's the best we can do with a free feed. Of course, if you'd like to donate a free RT feed for us.....
