Cigars...your favourite one..?

The cigar exchange

Great review RichieE.

This is a great thread and I enjoy reading it.
I have an idea that might catch on

I would like to share one of my favourite cigars with one of you gentlemen on this thread. I will exchange one of my Romeo Y Julieta NO.3 for one of your favourite cigars.
I will pay the postage from my end.

PM me with details of the cigar you want to share & address etc.

Kind regards, :clover:

A cigar 'exchange' - interesting idea (y) however let me have a dealve inside my humidor this weekend first!

I have another idea. How about a few of us visit Casa Del Habano in Wardour Street one evening to 'sample' some cigars. They have a roller there who makes them fresh!

Bought a small humidor that holds 30 cigars from Cigar Pleasures (site above) to hold Cohiba Robustos/Siglo VI for £22.99 complete with hygrometer in front....allowing to stack the boxes....

It holds upto 12 cigars in a single file....I don't like to stack expensive cigars......

Ii is preferable to have separate small humidors to hold Cohibas and other good cigars as mixing destroys the individual aromas.....

Zambuk, I would agree with separating your cigars from any cheap (and especially 'flavoured' cigars). However, I tend to keep my cigars in their cedar wood boxes in my humidor and I generally find that I don't have any problems with 'cross contamination' of aromas. With a smaller humidor you can always stack your smokes from lightest on the left and graduating to the strongest on the right. :smart:

Thanks Richie....

As I don't smoke more than five brand, it is easy to buy small Humidors (20 cigars) and make it brand specific.....

The one I have that holds upto 100 is with drawers, and works fine, but I always find that when I open individual humidor the aroma is very specific to that cigar.....So I have separated them....

Perhaps I will use that big one to hold cigar boxes as you do rather then storing individually...

I wondered about doing that too at one point, is it easy to check on all the humidors that you have?

If you are considering it, I bought a 500 count humidor from these guys on eBay click here they are a German seller and I've had a humidor from them for about 3 years with no problems. They are fairly well built for the price and keep their humidity well if you fill up on crystals.

Thanks for the link....

I have a similar one that I use for now and it works well....But I might make small humidors (10 - 15 cigars) brand specific eventually....

These small humidors are cheap nowadays and come with hygrometers...

Thanks to all who responded.....

I have now managed to get all the cigars mentioned as favourites on this thread.....

See the attached PDF that shows the list of all cigars in my humidor.....The list includes the history of the Habanos brands

Thanks

To be honest I wasn't impressed... there were pretty tatesless. However, they might improve with age.

That's why I never buy a box of anything before 'sampling'... ;)

Thanks......Well I tried three and then it was too much to tell the difference....So I bought it anyway....

....It had good aroma and a medium taste a lot different than Cohibas...I prefer medium to light...Partagas, Bolivars and others are full and I find that too much....

...But you are right.....sampling, it has to be....

Anyway I will try it this weekend....

....There was a talk of doing a cigar sampling run in a group.....Should we organise one someday in spring..?

Watched KingPin on E4 last night. Very funny film -
Ishmael: "You really should try to quit Mr. Munson. They say it's bad for your heart, your lungs, it quickens the aging process."
Roy Munson: "Is that right? Who's done more research than the good people at the American Tobacco Industry? They say it's harmless. Why would they lie? If you're dead, you can't smoke."

Also funny...
ESPN Announcer: "So Roy, let me ask you, what have you been doing for all these years?"
Roy Munson: "Uh, well, the... the uh... After... after the hand... There... there,,, No, there was the 80's. You know, for a while... (Roy clears his throat.) Drinking. A lot of drinking."
ESPN Announcer: "Uh, are you still drinking?"
Roy Munson: "No, no, no. I... I don't... That's, that's behind me now. I just... Why, you buying?"
