Merry Christmas All,
Hope to get your opinion on the following and if the same is happening elsewhere or is only Australia.
My two kids go to kindy two days per week. They enjoy it and it is good for them (I believe). This year the kindy has stopped celebrating Christmas because it might upset the non-Christian children and families.
There is no reference to Christmas, no singing 'jingle bells' let alone 'silent night'. When I found this out I wrote one of my exceedingly polite letters (that people hate to get) pointing out that Australia is a multicultural society where 16 million of us are Christian (according to the census) and the remainder comprise mainly athiests and minor religions. Even the major global religion of Islam only accounts for less than 3% of the Aussie population.
Am I being too conservative or is this political correctness gone absolutely bonkers?
Whatever your personal religious beliefs I would welcome your opinion.
