Low Risk Bet on Markets

Hi All,

You could try www.betfair.com as there is the ability to bet on financial markets going up or down. You can even set your own odds and see if someone will match you. In fact there are some good arbitrage opportunites during the day as the markets change from being up from the open to being down from the open. You also get the chance to bet on how the market will be by mid day which means you can bet without the influence of the US.

Good Luck

Paul

A low risk strategy are Bull/Bear 5-Day Expiry Bets and No Touch (7 day) bets, With a very low relative risk it is very easy to make 5% a week.

hi julesrules

are you using that strategy? are you trading all the indices or specialising in just one?

I just trade the Dow and Footsie although i occastionally trade the NDaq. Although i go for slightly higher risk @ 18% but 5% is very easily done with a bit of research its a lot less stressful than day trading.

just had a look at that site seems a good way to start off with their virtual account. would people agree?

very little just getting my head around the different systems at the moment. am long on a coupla companies and have made decent returns, more luck than anything else lol. as has ben mentioned, i think its good because it lets u play with small amounts of real money with limited risk. im just trying to pick up all i can atm

No posts on Betonmarkets for ages.

Anybody regularly using this site?

I am trading intraday hourly bets on FTSE and DJIA with reasonable success - running at just over 60% winning bets YTD. Got burnt on trading currencies last Decemeber when the Yen was under pressure (got in too late) and haven't been in that market since!

In terms of indices, I find that I get a good steer from the first 6-0 minutes (FTSE) and 30 minutes (DJIA) of trading. If there is a decent level of movement in the index then that gives me the signal to place a bet.

I find that the first 2 hours of trading in each market yield the best success rates for me.

The recent change to the timing intervals bringing in a minimum 30 minuite bets on 10 minutes start times has yielded opportunities to recover bets that were going wrong!

Any BOM players out there?

Mark

Hello Jules,

I'm just following up on a rather old post of yours which I have just found.

I usually daytrade on the Dow so am not used to thinking about where it might be in a weeks time ... so what kind of "research" do you do ?

Nice One JonnyT, if you were not a trader I think you could do well as a satirical comedian
