A while back I know that JonnyT had set up a completely automated forex trading system for use on IB. However, over time I think that he found it to be less than he wanted profit wise so he stopped and has not been seen for a long time on here.
The point being that it is possible. What rules are you wanting to set and execute ?

Thanks for your input Paul. Basically a very simple intraday 5-minute bar system based on a few straightforward calculations and conditions. Maybe I should look into Tradestation but they are tied to their own brokerage I think.

Have a look at NinjaTrader, it is free untill you want to place trades but it interfaces with IB and you can program trading strategies in .Net (c#). I just use the free ver for charting and market scanning as I place all trades myself.
Thanks Inno. I'll take a look at that but I'm not good working with .Net programming languages. I prefer something like easylanguage or wealth-lab script.
