I believe Linda Bradford Raschke used a modification of the Keltner Channel. I believe that her version has surpassed the original and would be the one generally available in code today?
I know you asked this a while ago, but I use multiple Keltner channels on my charts with different ATR settings. It's a method I've adopted from watching various trading videos by Kerry Lovvorn, who is Dr. Alexander Elder's business partner. I have mine setup using an ATR setting of 1, 2 and 3 plus and minus. But if it's strategies using them you are after then SpikeTrade had some useful videos by Kerry, and I'm not sure, but I think you can probably access them on the trial service they have.
I use Keltner channels but not in relation to ATR. I use it in relation to Bollinger Bands. The way I use them is that USUALLLY the BB is outside of Keltner channel line (both lines have the traditional settings). However as the BB compresses inside the Keltner channel a strong move is building up. When it breaks to top edge of BB before ever reaching the Keltner channel it is an indication to BUY,...if it approaches the lower edge of BB then go short.
