anyone use MLdownloader

Hoping somebody maybe able to help - I currently use ml downloader for eod daily charts, (no problem with that, it works well)

I can download weekly data - but It doesn't supply mid-week values - so my weekly charts only show the previous weeks values.

Part of my trading plan is watching for changes in the weekly patterns, which is impossible at the minute - (or at least too delayed for my liking).

Alternatively does anyone know how to display weekly charts on metastock using only EOD data.

I've only just seen your message so you may already have discovered that in Metastock you just click on the compression button to toggle between daily/weekly/monthly compression from daily data. the button is near the bottom-right of the chart screen.

BTW the best data I have found is from www.findata.co.uk

do you know what kind of parameters are necessary to use ML-downloader for correct ASCII-EOD-data-download?

Hi sincerus,

EOD Ascii works for me. I see 2 options...
First, make sure the symbol group has the ASCII file path you expect the data to be export to. Then from the DOWNLOAD menu choose OPTIONS and ensure the ASCII FILE FORMAT option is checked. That should do it.

The second way is how i use it and that is to download to metastock format first. Then from the TOOLS menu chose CONVERT METASTOCK TO ASCII FORMAT.

Can you look please in the check-box "options" > "define a custom ASCII-format"

What are your settings in the boxes?

I have attached the ASCII config file. Just rename it from a TXT file to CFG and then load it into MLDOWNLOADER.

I can download "some" days but not all the dates i want.
In ML-Dowloader i tried to download datas of DAX-Index from 1.1.1990 until 2.8.2008 with the new configuration you sent.

Huh, that does look weird.

Attached your config file and I will try it out. Other than that, I suggest sending a message to the MLDownloader support email address ( info @ trading - tools . com ). They have respond very fast to my questions in the past.
