The UK's Financial Watchdog bared it's teeth today and launched it's 1st Criminal Money Laundering Prosecution against a Bank.

The case involves hundreds of millions of pounds in increasingly large cash deposits which the bank is alleged to have laundered without adequate scrutiny or oversight.

It is the Bank which is being held to account, not individual managers.

Casual observers will note that the Bank in question is majority owned by The UK Government.

Just in case there was ever any doubt about who the biggest crooks were, there certainly isn't now.

Heard one of the named players was given a leading position in the FCA.

Double own-goal for UK.Gov.

FCA investigating... Conflict of interest or what? Apparently, his part in the NatWest affair was left out of his CV when applying or something.

... how convenient. Must have forgotten about it.
Obviously an unintentional oversight.

Of course. 🐷🦅🐽🦅🐷🦅

It's virtually a triple own goal as the government ownes a 62.4% stake so when they get fined it will be government paying a goverment fine to government for not adhering to what government said that a government owned enterprise was lawfully obliged to do by those governing the government owned enterprise
