I agree. In my view the psychology of trading is THE most important aspect, and also the most difficult to get right. Tips and advice, such as in this type of article, which help each of us obey our own trading rules without question, are always welcome.

It's 1506, more than one and a half hours after NFP, and still d4f are continuing to suspend trading in $/Yen. What a bunch of ***ts. That's done it for me with them. Time to go elsewhere.

I know this thread is Cable related, but has anyone else noticed that d4f are still suspending trades in $/Yen, fully one hour after NFP figures? Are they doing so with other FX pairs?

With tongue in cheek, and apologies up front....... It's been shown that too much time-decay can affect an attempted straddle, causing loss of the upward dynamic, a rapid reversal and failure to re-enter. Now is the time to consider your position. Perhaps you could resort to using derivatives...

I was thinking of taking up a new position, possibly with a re-entry after a pullback, and exiting after a peak rise prior to a climactic sell-off. Typical of the swing trader really. As for support and resistance, I won't even go there! Apologies, everyone.

Having decided that everything was right, according to your method, to take the trade, why not put in place an entry stop? Then you would have been stopped in automatically. Out of the twin trading evils of fear and greed, sounds a bit like fear to me. I know. I suffer from it too!

I, like others, suffered numerous technical problems/conflicts with AOL. In fact, mention AOL to a computer specialist and they usually groan. Switching to Pipex a year or so ago was one of my better moves.

MT4 Upgrade Today's MT4 upgrade killed all my custom indicators too, and a trial recompile of one of them had no effect. I did an uninstall and reinstall but to no avail. Eventually I reinstalled again and set up a new account, then transferred the indicators from my back-up file into the MT4...
