Hi all,

I was wondering which time frame is most affected by news events, or are they all equally affected?

For example, when you see long trends developing over many days and over many pips do they tend to just absorb alot of the news that comes out relating to the currency, so that any price change becomes only a small blip in the overall trend.

Where as in intraday trading a news event can cause the price to completely break through a trend?

I imagine that news can cause breakouts over all time frames, but what is the norm?

Thanks.

Well what I suggested was just my theory, but i didn't know if it was the case or not.

A 1 tick chart.
A 1 second chart.

Price is price - regardless of timeframe, it will still be making the same movements - whether the chart ist a 5 sekunden chart or a 15 minuten chart....

News events are always causing changes in the prices of currencies. Of course, you would see the most fluctuation and turbulence during day trading where traders will react quickly to any news that comes out.
