I am a recent graduate and am currently applying to a number of small brokerage firms in the city of London.

I just want to get a foot in the door, start at the bottom and work my way up.

So i'm interested to talk to and get advise from actual stock brokers on the ins an outs of the business. Maybe someone can offer me advise on the best way to get in.

Also, any first hand information about the actual business of futures trading will be greatly appreciated.

I will be in the same position soon and have researched this topic extensively. I would say to you, look through this section. There is LOADS of relelvant information. This is why, I think, no one has yet to reply to your thread. Evrybody asks the same question!
