Hey Roger

Sorry to hear you didn't get the refund. These guys are just crooks. (n)

Stumbled upon this: http://nondealingdesk.blogspot.com/2009/12/ten-surefire-signs-robot-developer-is.html . Seems they have almost all the signs of a SCAMMER.

Also noted a new website of theirs: http://www.invest-scout.com/todd-brown.html have a look at the web page and compare it for "Signs of a scammer".

Roger, did internet crimes division take up your matter? By the way, they have a new address at 723 South Casino Center Boulevard, 2nd Floor, Las Vegas, NV 89101 .... prolly a dud address ....

Hang in there bud

Is there a training school or training program for these guys?:smart:

I wonder how people can come up with such things and invest so much time money and expertise in crafting these snares for people for who don't know better.:-0

I mean really, how is it that they know how to 'appear' so legit, when in fact they are shysters from day one?:sneaky:

Their talent is probably inborn and genetic :p ... a result of unfavorable mutations ... as Darwin would say.

Stay far far away from this company. 2 months and counting after i have "qualified" for the refund and will get my money back "once the funds are available".

My local police department and news agency have already taken up this story so unless I don't get a refund this week you'll be seeing a lot of negative publicity on this company from a credible news company

Hi Roger....I just came upon this thread. I also purchased the Gomega software with a friend on December 11th, 2008. Because I had previously purchased another one of their products in the past, (a stock trading system) my friend and I were able to qualify for a discount for two licenses for the Gomega software. After paper trading the software for a few months my friend opened a $10K live trading account with FX Direct Dealer. 153 trades were made with the automated software between April 22, 2009 and July 24, 2009. The net result was a loss of $12.74 for these trades. While the amount lost was negligible, the software certainly did not live up to all the hype about results that would be achieved. On November 9th of 2009 I wrote to David Prewitt who I believe is the sales manager at Quantum Research--the developers of Gomega-- I supplied the complete trading log of all 153 trades showing the dismal results and since we complied with all the requirements of their money back guarantee we requested a refund. This started a chain of email exchanges between David Prewitt and myself. On December 3rd Prewitt sent me an email stating the refund process would take 4-6 weeks. On January 19th 2010 I sent Prewitt another email stating it was now over 6 weeks and we still didn't receive the refund. He responded saying... "the refund process has taken considerably longer than originally anticipated"... and offered his sincere apologies and also stated ."we will honor our guarantee and you will receive your refund, I assure you"... Then he also used the same phrase he sent you. ..."We are simply waiting for the funds to become available". ...I wrote back the next day January 20th and asked him to clarify what he meant by 'waiting for the funds to become available'. His reply to that email message was ..."we can issue your refund as soon as it's within our budget to do so". The last email message I sent to him was on February 22nd stating this was not acceptable and unless we received the refund by March 1st we will be contacting Oregon state and Federal governmental agencies. Prewitt did not respond to this last message and now we are in the process of putting together a complete package for the Oregon state and Federal agencies stating how they have not lived up to their money back guarantee when we complied with all requirements. I wish you luck in your efforts to secure your refund as well.

May I humbly suggest that anyone purchasing something of this nature in the future should pay exclusively by credit card and then just reimburse your credit card from your bank account or debit card (so at least you don't pay the card interest).

There is a reason why a lot of these online sharks prefer you to pay by paypal, worldpay and other payment forms that don't indemnify the buyer that well. These 'easy' payment methods can make it easier to get away with scams like this when the time for a refund comes.

When paying by Credit card, even if they charge you an extra 2-3% 'handling fee' or 'processing fee' for paying by credit card, consider it worth every penny when the time for the refund etc comes up!!! Especially if you spending over £100 here in the UK, you are automatically insured under Section 75 of the UK Consumer Credit Act!

That clause is designed to prevent you from ever being in debt for a product or service you never actually received! Even if you paid off the card debt immediately after purchase so that it attracted no interest.

Seguna....That's all well and good advice to pay by credit card. However I did pay Quantum Research (Gomega software) with a Visa credit card. After paying the bill in full I then closed my account with the bank issuing the credit card. Also, I applied for a refund from Quantum Research about 11 months after purchasing the software. Yes the credit card company will protect you for items purchased but not delivered, but I did receive what I payed for. They just refused to honor their written guarantee. And after 11 months even if I had not closed the account with the credit card company, I doubt whether Visa would reimburse me for the money paid for the software.

Hi Craig, if you don't try you won't know. Remember that the indemnity covers non-delivery or faulty goods. In your case, the 'software' is faulty because it did not do what it said on the tin.

In your particular situation, I think there's definitely a claim via the Card Company because GoMega have agreed to refund you, they just have not done it within the timescales agreed! For goodness sakes you are making a fraud report to the authorities so that definitely constitutes 'faulty goods' to me!!!

Give it a try, you've not much to lose, even though the card account is closed, I think the guarantee may well still apply???

Gosh!

What's happened to the days when honest men made honest money by providing honest goods and services to people, thereby solving their problems, meeting their needs and adding value to their lives in some way? :(

This is all one needs to do to make money - people gladly pay to receive benefits and services.(y)

The effort some people put into scamming people is truly amazing!!!

Seguna, there have been crooks and scams in every era throughout the history of mankind. Nothing different today. When you get scammed like myself and others on this board and other boards from companies like Quantum Research all you can do is hope federal and state governmental agencies (not the Better Business Bureau) can take action against these scam artists. I have already contacted the Attorney General in Oregon (the state where Quantum Research supposedly is located). I intend to follow up by contacting the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Perhaps they can investigate these low-lifes at Quantum and start putting some heat on them. Maybe even put them out of business. I assume it's too much to expect to ever see any money from them regarding the refund I asked for which was in accordance with their written money back guarantee which they never had any intentions of honoring.

True...I guess I'm just occasionally shocked by the brazenness of some of these people...how they manage to appear so straight faced and sincere! Even having offices and sales staff and promo videos and 'demo live accounts' etc.

Truly miffing to me!

It shouldn't come as a shock to you at all. Scam artists like those that sold Gomega software are only taking advantage of the greed inherent in many people. They fall prey to these creeps because they want high profits while doing little or no work to obtain these profits. Human nature will never ever change. And I should have known better. I am a professional trader with over 25 years of trading experience and I fell for the lore of easy profits and no work because I got greedy and lazy something I know will always result in failure. So I'm out $5K for software that didn't live up to the hype. But I'm not just sitting on my ass and doing nothing about it. I've sent a package to the Oregon State Attorney Generals office including all the details of how Quantum Research refuses to honor their guarantee and all the correspondence between them and myself regarding the guarantee, a trading log showing the software did not perform as suggested, the actual written money back guarantee, copies of the invoice for the software, etc. etc. Next I will be contacting the Federal Bureau of Investigation and finally the Federal Trade Commission in Washington D.C. Will I get my money back? Probably not but I hope to cause some real pain for these scum-bags that marketed the Gomega software.

Well it appears that a new site is offering the same too good to be true deal...
autofxfiringpin.com |

I just listened to their webinar and it sounded too good to be true. I did my own research and it lead me to this forum. After reading the long history on this thread, I'm glad I didn't hastily jump into the amazing $297 bargain price.

I further saw that Nevada Better Business Bureau rates them as an 'F'. So sad as I was thinking this was a good way to trade.
