Biggest mistake?

my 3 biggest mistakes (so far) in order of magnitude are:

1. to ever listen to vendors who cannot show you a profitable track record
2 . to read 'trading' books
3. to use brokers who do not profit from your success.

set me back years. I wish I was joking.

4. posting gay porn on a public forum lol

caught ham fisted! :LOL::LOL::LOL:

Not the biggest, but one mistake I made that caught me out recently was to have a monthly target (albeit very informally and loosely).

This was destructive for a number of reasons, and now I don't even track results during the month, instead compiling them at the end.

Works much better.

rolling target L ?

good question, there are many mistakes to be corrected.
top one will be the attitude of gambling.

Realising just clicking on a mouse doesn't = good trading.
Wait for the right time to click. It can make all the difference.

ain't one thing - you gradually improve over time.

There's no magic bullet...

Not for me, anyway...

Serious now...

Thinking I would soon be a millionnaire after 6 up months when first started.

I am searching my number one mistake to correct it and become a profitable trader.

Then you are in for a disappointment.

You are looking for a single 'fix' for your trading to turn you from a net loser to a net winner.

Such a thing does not exist. It's all down to hard work and improvements over time.

You might want to start tracking your results, logging your entries & the reason for them.

If you don't even know the mistakes you are making now, you wont be able to improve IMO.

Biggest mistake: thinkin' I had it all down when in reality I was no where near being profitable consistently yet. You can never stop learning...

Over trading was a pretty major one for me. It's still a big danger, although I haven't fallen into the trap for quite a while.

Morning traders.

To any profitable traders out there - What was the number one mistake you all corrected to become a profitable trader? :)

Kind regards,

Axiory

Not caring about the losses.
...and not overtrading but they were linked for me.

One of my biggest mistakes ever and that cost me more time and effort to overcome was trying to feel me "safe" when in a trade...
That lead to all kind of frustration, and even more losses on the general outcome
