Elsewhere on the forum we're having a little difference of opinion has to what defines "Contrarian"... to me it's having the ability to have a different mindset ..note that I am not talking about a stereotypical oddball who thinks he's got to do the opposite of whatever anyonelse does .. ...I am suggesting it has the ability to readily see and adopt different psychological postures....for example...you go out for the night with the boys..you spot an attractive girl..well you can march right up and take your chances...or you can talk to her most unattractive friend to get her interest in an oblique way..what's he babbling about and what has this to do with trading...consider the attractive girl to be the market action ...you walk straight in on her then it's a gamble ..you don't know how she's going to react..whether she's interested or not....however...you talk to her unattractive friend instead and the attractive friend will either ignore you , or you will have irked her interest and she will find a way to let you know..in other words her actions will confirm whether there is a trade for you
