Not good that this is going down on a Friday either.

Boom and bust, eternal irrational exaggerations in both directions.

It is just SO ridiculous !
 
On days like this I am very grateful for forums like T2W.
It helps you not to be in the market
All the U.S crosses seem oversold, I just feel if you go with the trend it will turn the moment you are in and if you go against it it will continue.
So I choose to sit this one out.

Wish I had read this earlier - God, I feel like I've been in a fight this morning. 5 trades, the first 4 were losers (kept getting topped and tailed). Finally got a 54 tick move down and now I'm exhausted!

I'm just going to sit and wait now - the Eurostoxx market is trading like it's the DAX today.:eek:

What is different about today than any other day in the market in the history of the market?

Can we still not make money?

After all, the market is still only going up and down.

Your comment smells of believing in good and bad luck, ie, if I get in the market will somehow know and go against me. I must have read your post wrong as I know you enough to know that you know that isn't the case. So I'm confused about what you said.

The only difference in my view is this morning I have a gin martini instead of coffee but thats a whole different story! ;)
 
I think liquidity might be a serious problem, ie if you do a bit of size, and IF we go into a freefall - not saying that we will, but if we do - then one might not be able to get out anywhere near to where one would have normally expected to.

There might not be any buyers when you need em.

So, I am trading, but with very small size today.

Also, exchanges / trading might get halted.

Which would leave anybody with a position open potentially holding the bag.

Just the little chat i had with my mind this morning, the old how low can it go.....

At least i didn't actually lose money!
 
Today is a great way to make money as you cash in your long term position. Why on earth anyone would day trade this without a lot of capital behind them defeats me.

Do you know if the DAX has trading limits ?

You are dead right about the liquidity. The DAX book is incredibly thin. 15 - 20 pt moves in less than a second.

Why is it ? In a trending market whether down or up the price can never be too low or too high and liquidity on currencies should still not be an issue in my view.

My drinks are coming later, its tidy the office friday so hoovering and dusting then out for drinks and chinese later.
