Yes, a victory for democracy.

It was rather worrying that such a massive set of proposals could be put together so quickly, endorsed by the Moron Bush who probably hasn't got a clue w.t.f. is going on and passed through Congress.

Now we shall see whether a catastrophe really will occur or whether it was an over-reaction by Bush and his bunch of fascist gangsters.

Intriguing indeed.
 
Or, it was a vitriolic uprising of those with little understanding of the issue and the concequences it will have. Main street thinks this is just an issue about Wall street, let us see how far Main street can get without Wall street backing.

Democracy is great... but the voters need to understand the issues at hand, and not be able to make politically motivated decisions (that is, vote with the intention of making some personal gain).
 
Im glad this has happened. Why should the banks get saved? Putting your money in a bank is not 100% secure. This is Capitalism after all.

Paulson and Bush couldnt deliver to their bum buddies. It was a great day for freedom. If they do get a bill through like this it will set us back ten years or more. They are Fascists. And Corporatism should not be rewarded like this. The Fed, a privately owned bank, will own a part of every American big time...and they are going to keep trying and trying to get something through.

It was by no means a vitriolic uprising, such a notion just doesnt wash, but a premature victory perhaps. We will see anyway.

Whatever plan is adopted, in the long run we all pay one way or another both in USA & UK.

Bankers, politicians & Joe Public all need & I think are about to get, a hard lesson that will at least keep them on the straight and narrow for the forseeable future. This is still better than anything the ultra-left have ever come up with.

The govts. will guarantee $/£50,000 in personal savings in case banks go bust. Im sure your average millionaire is sleeping easy at night (with a suitcase full of notes under the bed) :eek:.

I imagine its one of those votes that they will just keep pushing & pushing until it is accepted, a bit like the EU Lisbon Treaty that Ireland rejected. They'll make them vote on basically the same plan until it is passed.
 
Saw McCain on TV yesterday and he came across as only marginally less stupid than Bush and if I closed my eyes it could well have been Bush prattling on about sweet f**k all. :sleep:

Please God, do not let us be saddled with this old feller for the next umpteen years.(n)

Give us something different so there may be a little bit of hope for the world. (y)
 
Yes although mccain & obama are bought and paid for by the military industrial financial complex, and will have little control on what happends during their presidency, at least obama sounds half way human.
