Zonealarm 5.0 / Norton Conflict

If you are running the most recent version (5.0) of ZoneAlarm with a Norton Antivirus product, I suggest you check that Norton is still scanning incoming/outgoing emails.

I discovered yesterday that mine wasn't. It seems to be a common problem with the latest version of ZoneAlarm.

The solution (until ZoneLabs admit there is a problem and fix it) is just to revert to the old ZA version 4.5 as described below:

I believe it is recognised as being undesirable to try to run any two antivirus products together at the same time
 
Yep. I'm running NAV2002 which doesn't have it's own firewall, hence I need ZA. The older ZA versions didn't conflict though. Maybe it's time to buy a later version of Norton anyway.
