However, you fail to mention one vital detail. The 'green ginger wine' must be Stones. Don't touch Crabbies with a barge pole - it's nothing like as good!

If you want a warming long drink - and continuing with the ginger theme - a ginger beer shandy is excellent. Be careful when you ask for it in a pub though, as inexperienced bar staff will assume you want ginger beer mixed with lemonade. I prefer a weak bitter myself, preferably under 4%, which has the added benefit of being comfortably within the legal drink drive limit (after one pint).
