If you want to swim and enjoy the sunshine in Xmas then go to Egypt! They Red Sea beaches are fascinating!

Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh are the best resorts on the Red Sea.

You could try Umhlanga Rocks or Umdloti Beach in KZN, South Africa. Plenty of sand and sun, warm seas, night life & other things to do eg game reserves. It's an 11 hr flight, but I think you'll enjoy it.
