Why do you use indicators that change values when period change?

Without doubt, there is a load of crap being unloaded here, this morning.

this thread is crap ..and I apologise for going off topic, but TRO asked "what other field" I just gave chemistry which wasn't specific enough for him. I've now been as specific as I can give, using one of the brightest minds of our time as a reference point. Again, this isn't good enough it would seem.
