Why are different currency pairs doing the same thing?

I noticed that the currency pairs AUD/JPY and EUR/USD were doing almost the same thing on the evening of the 11th. The charts look very similar and the prices are making almost the same movements, why would this be the case?

Are they both reacting to the same external information such as news and announcments?

The USD and the JPY are moving in very similar fashion at this moment in time, so that could be part of it. Sometimes it's just coincidence, though.
