Wackypete did some good detective work and discovered that the OP was using a SearchEngine technique which then related to a tipping service. I ban and cleaned his (OP - not wacky ) content from the boards, but that had the result of killing off the above thread. Can't undo it I'm afraid.

this was a good thread, enjoyed reading it, shame it had to go.

ban and clean isn't the only option though as you know jon. a quick easy look at the op's postings list would have shown replies to some of his threads, on seeing that, alternative deletion methods should then have been used. there were only 14 posts, means ticking less than 14 boxes and wiping a few of his opening posts in replied to threads, ban and clean was only ever meant to be a get rid of large amounts of spam, is 14 posts a large amount? clearly there were no pm's to worry about as the post count wasn't large enough.

on another note, can someone explain this seo thing. i saw wacky's post on the subject and can't for the life of me see how it works in relation to his site, i tried googling chunks of his posts but failed to see anything at all related

I posted a link to another forum he posted on (I don't have the link) where he listed the SEO strategy he or his company uses to get around the new Google ranking system. He used that strategy here. Specifically, not using relevant keywords, and creating unrelated postings without links. Google will now giver poor ranking to that old strategy. The strategy is that each page should contain some relevant info. By asking an unrelated question in each new thread the members then posted relevant information. Also the more he responds to the thread the less favorable it becomes since the keyword in this case was his nic. Overposting his nic in the same thread starts to look like keyword spamming, He has a site using his nic which will then also appear higher up in the rankings. Of course the exact algorithm that Google uses to determine all this is highly secretive.

the issue i'd have with the whole thing is that it sounds very fancy and clever, but his site is nowhere to be seen on a google search, and i mean nowhere, well i say that but i got bored at p10 :cheesy:

so what's the story, i don't see it working as explained, and he's been at it all over the show for a long while now.
