where are the pirates?

I was just wondering why everyone who has access to or who has bought intraday data is a white-knight. Is there a reason why no one has pirated via torrent or any other means intraday minute data?

Because he wants some and doesn't want to pay for it....just a guess !

I think it's because

a) There is free data available if you know where to look, and have the right software

b) You can just sign up with a broker and obtain the data for free (at least for some time)

You can get five years of minute data for free? And I'm not going to use someone's software to backtest my algorithm. I've coded my own backtesting software.
