When price opens different to where it closed yesterday, we say that is a gap. It is a gap up if price is higher or a gap down if price is lower.
Many people ignore gaps which are different to he last close but are within the previous day's range. So, for them, a gap up from yesterday's close is only interesting if it also is higher than yesterday's highest price. Some people call a gap which is formed by an open outside yesterday's range a full gap.
But jump hole is a good name.
