Hello,

Where I can find charts for major indexes *with volume* data?
I know, I know, indexes (like DJI or NYA.X) don't actually trade, but you can calculate volume for them, can't you?

You can see NYSE and NASDAQ's volume on their sites, but I'd prefer a visual representation, just like a real-time daily/weekly chart for a stock.

I use TD AMERITRADE and Think or Swim (demo mode) and haven't found anything like this. TD AMERITRADE representative told me they plan to include volume data in their data stream this year, but it's not there yet, so...

How do you guys get volume data for exchanges/indexes?

You can use ETF volume (SPY, QQQQ, etc) as a proxy if your platform doesn't provide another alternative.

Thanks.
Just compared SPY's volume to SP500's and QQQQ's to NASDAQ's with IBD general market chart. While there is obvious resemblance, it's not always an accurate representation.

I wonder, what platforms do provide such information?
