US Options historical data

Hi,

I have followed all the links and tried to make sense of them all - with only partial success...

At the end I have found just two sites that seem to provide US Share options historical data at what is (I beleive) reasonable prices:

http://www.stricknet.com/main/data.htm - $600 2003-present
http://www.historicaloptiondata.com/purchasing.aspx $1350 Feb 2002 - Feb 2010

Does anyone know if there is any reason NOT to go with the cheaper option from the above two? Is there any other data source I should consider?

Finally - on the daily data update (EOD only). The two sites offer a daily update for $30 and $40 - again - any other ideas or suggestions?

Any input would be gratefully received - a DVD in the post would be even better

Is there any other data source I should consider?

If you are interested only in a selection of underlyings, you can try http://www.ivolatility.com/. There, you can get the data for pennies per underlying per month. I cannot confirm whether their data are identical to the official data set of the CBOE.

Have only seen the intro video on their site but it looks like everything an option trader needs including implied vol and historical data. Its a 100 bucks a month tho, Im def putting it on my wishlist.
