What is the spread on the fullsize S&P? Is it .10 or is that only if you trade it in the pit?

Burney - I'd heard from one 'big boy' who trades a minimum 100 lots that ES is far better to trade than the main S&P. I can't remember his reasons, but I think they had something to do with margin requirements by his brokers. Therefore with a lower percentage margin on ES the risk is less for him.

Interesting point-I hadn't thought of it like that-have checked out of interest Margin requirements from my own Broker-wouldnt work at moment Margin is around 5 x Mini contract for Full S&P same as difference in $ per Point. However if I remember correctly last lot of margin requirements would have made it viable.(I will just be happy when I have enough account size to do either safely :) )

PualoP - I'm not sure of the spread on the main S&P; I don't think we've had anyone here who has ever traded main S&P!

Why trade the full S&P?

I reckon you can 10 emini's (worth 2 full) without disceranble slippage.
