What currency will drop the further if US will

a) default
b) be downgraded

and why?

bring your thoughts gentlemen.

The farce is with us

You know we're being gamed over all this doncha? Think Hank Paulson saving the world back in 2008. Not only is the debt ceiling going to get raised, q.e. 3 will follow, how convenient that the dow has slipped back to circa 12200..

The dollar will continue it's symbiotic dance with the euro, the mainstream media will concentrate on euroland once again late next week whilst hundreds of billions of USA dollars have scurried to the safe havens of the swissy and yen, Aus dollar, kiwi etc. The whole mis direction is farce of Pinter quality.

but you do understand that nothing is infinite. sometime this must end.. why do you think this is not the time?

(farce can be played as long as the author has means to end it at will. otherwise is farce playing the author which I afraid is might be happening now....)

Kicking the can further down the road, into the long grass...we've all over used the same statements, IMHO the problem is/was insoluble using the mechanics and mechanism preferred by the zero point one percenters. The elite are desperately attempting to ring fence their wealth but they're out of ammo and ideas, the next socialisation of losses onto the USA public will break their backs and result in chaos IMHO.

We're watching the end of an empire, we look back at history and there is no comparison, empires failed due to bankruptcy or cost, this one has 750military bases and a lot of very delusional misguided decision makers, expect one more shock doctrine tactic in 2012/2013...Iran or China.

Hi Maxima,

I just can't take the situation that seriously. There is no way this thing isn't going to be resolved. I absolutely agree that nothing lasts forever, but this is not the end.

I guess the States could get a downgrade, and there'd be some jumpiness. But then what? It's still the dollar. Things would get back to normal pretty quick.

Anyway, who gives a f*** what those halfwits at Moody's and Fitch say? Bunch of useless c0cksuckers, the lot of 'em.

Just wanted to say, I think we'll get another break today. I'll certainly be looking to play it if we do (the set up has already formed in any case).

For the sake of guessing I'd imagine we'll see ES approaching the 1250 area again before resuming. Probably not get there quite.

thats exactly my thoughts.. I said China and Russia will rule world by 2030 20 years ago - nobody wanted to hear....

so my issue is to find a feaseable way to navigate in several years of chaos which will erupt in the period of power transition....

the first stage might be now.

So you bought up lots of Chinese stock and you're a billionaire now right?
