I'm a US citizen, living in the US (not an expat).
I'm looking for info on investing in the UK, on the London exchange.
My biggest concern is tax issues - withholding and filing requirements in the UK.
While I realize a UK account would also create tax issues in the US (i.e. I'd need to report things correctly and file some special stuff in the US), I think I've found adequate information on the US side of things. But on the UK side, I'm struggling.
To make it perhaps a bit more complex, my primary interest in UK investing is in Investment Trusts - I'm not sure if that changes things tax-wise on the UK end.
Any other Americans out there investing in London? Any pointers for tax info and other useful info?
