Ukraine invasion

Strange how having broken all international rules and laws, Trump is quite happy to take over Greenland and redraw borders of the ME.

Personally, I think Ukraine should talk peace and simply redraw the borders of Ukraine and have them ratified.

Crimea was never Ukrainian imo or Sivastapol, just that simply the end of the Warsaw pact considered Ukraine a friendly ally to Russia and freedom of movement between Russian speaking people were just natural to let things as they were with freedom of movement.

Fact that NATO have aggressively expanded and manipulated the sponsorship of Zelensky in yet another regime change has been the very cause for this war.

Ukraine should agree to recognise peace and handing over the Donetsk and Donbass regions in exchange for European membership and neutrality much like Switzerland followed up relaxing of borders and freedom of movement of people would be a reasonable reset imo.

I'm no expert and have no interests in the region other than desire for peace and back to the business of living a good life with free movement and trade.

With the US now weakened on the international stage, Europe a non-entity, I have no idea what Zelensky thinks he can achieve.

People should know their limits imho.

Putin 'asks oligarchs to help fund war in Ukraine'... with Kyiv 'on course to run out of money within weeks' after Hungary blocked €90 billion EU loan

Vladimir Putin has asked oligarchs to help fund the war in Ukraine, according Russian media.

The move comes as Kyiv is warned it could run out of money within weeks after Hungary blocked a €90 billion EU loan.

The claims, citing unnamed sources, were published by independent Russian outlet The Bell and the Financial Times after Putin held a closed-door meeting with business leaders on Thursday.

'It's not true that Putin made such a request,' Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

However, he said a participant at the meeting had said he wanted to donate a 'very large sum of money' to the state.

He said many of the businessmen, who built their fortunes in the 1990s, felt a duty to contribute given their links to the state.

He did not name the individual involved.

'This was absolutely his initiative, and not President Putin's. Although, of course, the head of state welcomed such an initiative,' Peskov added.

He said it was not true that the money was for the war.
