The horrific torture awaiting captured Iranian protesters: Inside regime's 'slaughterhouse' jails where inmates face gang-rape, electric shocks to the genitals and having nails pulled out

Putin’s support for Iran is pragmatic and strategic: Russia and Iran have built a deep partnership in energy, trade, and security, but Moscow still limits how far it will go, especially on Iran’s nuclear and regional conflicts.[tehrantimes]

Strategic partnership

  • In January 2025, Russia and Iran signed a long-term “strategic partnership” agreement covering military and economic cooperation, especially energy and sanctions evasion.[euronews]
  • Putin later described this treaty as a “turning point,” highlighting growing trade, joint infrastructure projects, and Russian backing for Iran in international forums such as the UN.[tehrantimes]

Military and security ties

  • Iran has supplied Russia with Shahed drones, artillery and reportedly ballistic missiles for the war in Ukraine, while Russia has purchased billions of dollars’ worth of Iranian weapons since 2021.[cna]
  • Tehran seeks advanced Russian systems (like Su‑35 jets and S‑400 air defenses), but Moscow has hesitated or delayed major deliveries, revealing limits to its willingness to arm Iran.[lemonde]

Nuclear program stance

  • Putin publicly defends Iran’s right to a civilian nuclear program and notes that the IAEA has not proven a weapons drive.[trtworld]
  • At the same time, Russian officials have quietly pushed a “zero enrichment” proposal and stressed that Russia does not want Iran to acquire nuclear weapons, offering instead to supply low‑enriched fuel itself.[axios]

Anti‑Western alignment and sanctions

  • Shared opposition to the United States and Europe, plus heavy Western sanctions on both countries, have pushed Moscow and Tehran closer together economically and diplomatically.[cnbc]
  • Iran now also helps Russia with sanction‑busting know‑how and industrial goods, which supports Russia’s wartime economy and prolongs its campaign in Ukraine.[cna]

I think what Trump is looking at - being the business man that he is, is sitting down with the three powers; US, Russia and China to negotiate carving up the world into mutually exploitable parts.

You are either with the cowboy or against him.

There is the possibility the three big boys might fall out. One party gets too greedy. The other little countries start building their own blocks i.e. EU, Africa, Latin America, ME, Africa and Asia.

We live in interesting/dangerous times. Feels like imperial colonialism is trying to get a bigger part of global resources again.

There is an interesting Netflix documentary on the Cold War if anyone is interested. https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/81614129
The first part of this 9 Episode documentary was largely historic and reasonably balanced imo.

The last 2 Episodes loses the argument, providing a very Western perspective, Putin and Russia bad the West marvellous freedom championing good guys defending the invasion of Ukraine.

Even though it shows Putin outlining the NATO expansion as threatening Russian security and will not be tolerated the interpretation put on it is soooo annoying. I guess the uneducated Joe public sitting at home might consume this shit but to me, it's much of the same sick nonsense that is repeated by Main Stream Media, the masses simply don't understand Geopolitics.

It does openly acknowledge US interfering and over throwing foreign governments but claims we didn't do that in Ukraine? REALLY?

The program also points out / admits, US invaded Iraq whilst lying about WMD but in almost a 9 hour documentary from US perspective allocates a mere all of about 5-10 minutes to US setting a bad precedent and over throwing other goverments trying to deliver democracy that is US National Interest friendly. You can imagine what the viewer is going to walk away with.

The Iran / Contra affair is not mentioned or why Saddam turned on US to become Russian ally. 9/11 is briefly touched. Afghanistan and Vietnam just glossed over barely getting a mention.

The US War machine needs a common enemy and I get the impression they really miss their fight against communism. The war on Terror has replaced it but that too is coming to an end.

Genocidal Israel and the ME don't get much mention neither.

Overall, first half a good summary of nuclear history but the latter part is just another Western hypocritical propoganda from US / Western perspective; we are good they are bad - same old tosh, culminating in Russia invading Ukraine.

I think this article is spot on. Despite the rhetoric, US recognises Iran will not be simple strike with air power and rockets. Not only will any attack divert the protestors aims, it'll weaken their cause whilst strengthening the leadership's in defending the country.

What is missing in the article, is that the Israel lobby has been pushing very hard for a strike on Iran, but at the same time, in the US there are voices outlining that attacking Iran will de-stabilise the region, impacting allies and more importantly the whole global economy and supply chains.

It is good that the US is finally paying some heed to her allies in the region and subsequent consequences on the region leading to global consequences.

Some say the Epstein case seems to focus on everyone else but the state of Israel as to how they setup this honey trap, using vulnerable and under age girls to manipulate men of power and influence. Maxwell's father Robert was also another tyranical bastard who stole British pensioners money for his own use and then given a state burial by Israel hailed as a hero. A freaking common thief given a state burial for stealing pensioners money. That doesn't matter because he helped Israel.

The state of Israel is really a major threat and much like a social parasite that feeds on death, abuse and violation of human rights, to spread their expansion agenda in the region, and using the US to achieve her aims.

It is good that at least some people are voicing their patriotic voices in the US to say no to the Israeli lobby in the US and bring some reason to the table.

An attack on Iran will ultimately lead to global shocks with unintended consequences, impacting us all.

Diplomatic negotiations continue in the background and hopefully, peace will prevail as the last thing we all need is another war that may spiral out of control and not end in 12 days.
