Ukraine loses war to Russia, future to be decided by other countries — Orban

Zelensky says Ukraine won’t recognize results of upcoming Russia-US summit

Zelensky is such a useful tool.

He should realise he is just that - a tool in the hands of other actors.

FACT that he hasn't been invited to the peace talks between the US and Russia should tell everyone that this war was a PROXY war between the US and Russia.

US has been instrumental in setting up the conditions, developing the tool, wielding it and now time to pack it away to a corner.

Objectives on testing Russia and increasing spending on NATO weapons have largely been achieved.

With Zelensky help - a big bonus was the rare earth minerals in Ukraine is now 50% owned by the US.

All this garbage shiite news about Russia being an invader, starting the war blah blah blah is total BS. US has seen the limits they can push NATO and Russia as well as some of their capability. Job done.

Ukrainian people really need to question who their true friend is. US and Europe or Russia? Doubt they'll see the difference though.

I can't get over the deal presented to Zelensky in Feb 2024 peace talks, and what he rejected. Neutrality like Switzerland and membership of EU against membership of NATO and potential for more wars.

He picked NATO and more wars, thanks to Boris Johnson's persuading along with uncle Sam's $$$. 😱 Dumb stupid shit for brains moron.

It's such a shame that c_v and CavaliereVerde et al no longer contribute to this thread as it would be really interesting (read hilarious!) to read their attempts to polish the poo-poo that's unravelling on the front lines in Ukraine and deny that everything those of us on the right said of the argument said would happen is indeed happening right now, day by day! Personally, I'm loving watching EU leaders cacking themselves over tomorrow's Alaska summit and going into a blind panic that Trump might actually end this war and expose all of them for what they truly are: incompetent, impotent, morally bankrupt, self serving low life who deserve nothing other than our total contempt. That said, my fear is that while EU leaders have little or no sway over Trump's decision making - the neocons in Washington absolutely do and, sadly, there are a lot of them and they want this war to continue even more than Starmer and Macron etc. So, the likely outcome is that little will change and Russia will push on to an outright military victory which will result in many more needlessly lost lives on both sides that could have been saved.

. . . I wonder if bookies the world over are offering odds against Zelensky and Ukraine executing some kind of false flag operation to scupper tomorrow's summit between Trump and Putin in Alaska? And, if they are, just how short those odds are. I certainly wouldn't bet against the little green goblin trying to pull off something like that - as he's really backed into a corner now and even he must realise the writing's on the wall for him and his administration. In his shoes, I wouldn't be thinking about how long I remain Ukraine's president, but more in terms of how I get out of this alive. I wouldn't trade places with him for all the tea in China and his £billions.

Yes very true. All those dead people on his conscience assuming he has one. He has fired so many Ukrainians who have opposed him too.

However, evil doers like him don't seem to suffer much sad to say. I don't believe in heaven or hell so I suspect it'll be a case of what he does with the rest of his life and how he lives. 🙁

There is talk of General Valerii Zaluzhnyi taking over from Zelensky (who is said to be exiled) soon.

Zelensky can either walk away to exile or be forced.

Starmer has received him in London to let him know his options and hand him his P45.

It is quite fascinating how the MSM portrays developments to Joe public.

In reality Macron tried to gain some international influence with Russia and Ukraine and failed miserably. We all remember Macron sitting at opposite ends of a 10 metre table to Putin. Unlike Trump and Putin, Macron was far from being close to being a deal / peace maker.

Now it is Germany and the UK jostling for influence over Ukraine. Spoils of the war to see who can have / win more contracts and make money out of Ukraines misfortune.

As for the US and Russia, they too are rubbing each others backs, laying out their offers and wants in horse trading at Ukraine's and European interest.

The games played behind diplomatic doors are far from what is fed to the mass public.

There is only exit and exile for Zelensky. I doubt he is even in the picture. Useless tool is probably trying to pick which country he might like to spend the rest of his hollow life in.

My guess - and it's nothing more than that - is that Trump has summoned Zelensky to the White House today / tomorrow to break the bad news to him in person that he's got to go, but to sweeten that otherwise very bitter pill by saying that he's welcome to live in the U.S. I can't think of anywhere else in the world where he'd be welcome? Maybe his wealth is sufficient to buy Epstein's island - as I believe the main residence there is empty.

That is such a good idea yes. I'm thinking Starmer has offered the same here in the UK or at least a place at some public school of his choice for his children. I've always liked Wilthsire and Salisbury my self.

France is also a choice along with Chile perhaps. Who knows.

I can't decide whether you really like Wiltshire and Salisbury At', or if you're expressing some dark Sergei Skripal inspired humour!? ;-)

Back to Friday's meeting, it looks very much to me as if Trump finally realises the writing's on the wall and that the U.S., Ukraine and the EU have little choice but to accept the 'Istanbul Plus' agreement set out by the Russians in June 2024, which would result in Ukraine ceding all four oblasts of the Donbas region to Russia and Ukraine becoming a neutral state, i.e. no NATO membership. Either that, or Russia will plough on and Ukraine will end up losing waaaaay more territory - perhaps everything east of the Dnipro river - not to mention countless more lives lost in the process. If Trump can't get Zelensky, Starmer et al to agree to the deal, then I think he'll just wash his hands of the whole affair and walk away. That way, he won't end up on the losing side and the door will remain open for the U.S. and Russia to return to something approaching normal relations. If that scenario does play out, we'll be faced with the nauseating spectacle of EU leaders saying they're going to continue to support Zelensky and spend even more taxpayers money (that we don't have) buying arms from the U.S. and elsewhere. At that point, I suspect protests on the streets will make the poll tax riots of 1990 look like an afternoon picnic in the park and this lousy, useless, morally bankrupt government will be no more. That day can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned.
Tim.

No nothing like that and I did live in Amesbury briefly and I always liked Salisbury. That was back in the late 80s. 🙂

EU playing silly games yes but the bigger picture is happening over the North passage between US/Russia/China now jostling for the resources under those ice caps that will appear as global warming proceeds. In secret that's what the discussions are about. US knows with Russia and China in cohesion, it has little chance. EU is the fall back if Trump can't win over Putin and Russia.

I reckon Trump is smart and trying to prise Russia away from good relations with China, making deals on how they can carve up earth's resources.

Without the Federal States of Europe with a single army, UK, France and Germany are no real match for Russia.

Agree with everything you say about all the tax payers monies going to waste and our public being hood winked and lied to all the time.

I've always thought Russia has helped the EU tremendously with open trade, cheap gas, supply of oil, gold and the wealthy oligarchs spending and living as capitalists do. EU aligning with the US without bargaining about what's in it for them was fool hardy imo.

US is no longer a dominant force in the World. In fact on the contrary, given the skeptical in Palestine, they and the EU have lost a lot of good will and currency supporting Israel's genocide.

Total shit show.
