Ukraine was never going to get into NATO. They weren't pushing for it nor would existing members allow them to join.
EU membership requires conditions to be met, so Ukraine had a long road ahead before ever becoming part of that club.

Try dealing with facts.

Russia invades anyone it fancies whenever it likes because they can't move on with the times.
Russia still believes it has relevance. In reality, it's a waning former superpower. No way are they coming back.
